If You Build it...

Over the last few weeks at work, I've been chastised by my residents for my choice in footwear.  Open toes, no socks with flats, oddly bright colors... the list goes on.  Anyone that works with the senior population understands that, in the opinion of the residents, anyone younger than them needs unsolicited advice and guidance. Clearly, I am in desperate need of guidance on appropriate cold weather footwear.  As we are graced with little teases of the warmer weather just around the corner, I decided to adopt the 'Field of Dreams' moto to try to get Spring temperatures to arrive with a bit more haste.  By "build it", I mean I am going to conduct myself as if it is 60 degrees outside and mother nature can catch up at her leisure.

In my longing to get outside (without 17 layers on), I found myself reminiscing and going through photos of my adventures, projects and photo shoots from last Spring and Summer.  Long story short, I discovered that I never shared one of my most favorite photo shoots from last summer. (Do you sense a theme among these last two posts?) It was a maternity shoot and Baby Riley is now 7 months old.  Believe it or not, the mother featured here (Cassie)  was less than 10 days away from giving birth when these photos were snapped.

I can almost feel the hot summer sun on my skin when I look at these photos.  Enjoy!

Dad was a good sport.  We went to a spot he often fishes, and being involved in a photo shoot didn't stop him from getting some tips and reports from the anglers on the pier that day.

Simply stunning.

Although, in total honesty, this photo is over exposed, I love the ethereal feel to it.

A touch of whimsy and a whole lotta sunshine.

Try asking a woman who is 9 months pregnant to fit her foot on the same (small) chair that she is sitting on.  You might just get this look of unamused sultriness.

Perfect purple wildflowers and a DIY sign from the baby shower.

The perfect purple wild flowers were steps away from where we were shooting, with no other flowers in sight.  Fate.

Besties.  Jackie (left) lovingly gifted this maternity photo shoot to her best friend Cassie. Aren't they gorgeous?

Despite the fresh coat of snow delivered to the Philadelphia area as a special St. Patrick's Day gift, Spring (and SUMMER!) are just around the corner.  Book your warmer weather photo shoots early and often!
